There was a dream
conceived of a longing:
an old portrait on a blue canvas
It was the sea and
the birds that dotted
the distant sky
I stood there on the edges of
the world in there
waves came lashing by
drenched my sand sunk feet
my cheeks felt dry
the tears had dried
my heart was a rusted piston
my mind the empty air
i was sinking
deep, deep into the heaving blue
conceived of a longing:
an old portrait on a blue canvas
It was the sea and
the birds that dotted
the distant sky
I stood there on the edges of
the world in there
waves came lashing by
drenched my sand sunk feet
my cheeks felt dry
the tears had dried
my heart was a rusted piston
my mind the empty air
i was sinking
deep, deep into the heaving blue
